At 10:07pm on April 6th, the Venus Jones group has achieved the unthinkable; a project that we are content with. After a semester of working diligently on this project, with the physical mural in place, with the website created and (almost) finalized, it feels odd and surreal to release this project into the world. A week ago, the website was bare, all of us working on our own pages with a framework and a vision. Now, both the mural and the website are in the world and I am really proud of my group. This is the first group project I have ever been in that it feels like every person pulled their weight and kept all expectations. While there were things that had to be cut out due to sake of repetition and time constraints, we were able to successfully collaborate and create a project that we are all proud of. If I was to go back in time and change anything, I would probably have warned the group about the length of time that the initial research and mural text approval would take, and push for earlier due dates. Still, we were able to get everything done in time with minimal stress (unless Dr. McClurken was stressed, but he didn’t show it). Overall, I feel as though I have had a positive experience throughout this project, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a strong, talented group!

After my geology class in Jepson yesterday, I went to see the Venus Jones mural, and it looks so good! I also used the QR code, which worked flawlessly, and got to look around on your site. The website looked great, and I think it was a great choice to prioritize mobile viewing. It was also very informative, and I learned a lot! I can’t believe I had never heard of her before this class. Congratulations on creating a great project!
